Developers Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix announced last Tuesday their official Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™ DirectX® 12 patch, scaling performance to a whole new level with DirectX 12 multi-GPU and frame pacing support on Radeon™ graphics.
The technological daring in this latest DirectX 12 patch allows players to delve into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided the way developers envisioned: an advanced and immersive experience for gamers, following Adam Jensen into the conspiring depths of Prague.
By no means a pale imitation of the Czech capital, the Polaris and GCN architectures in Radeon RX-series graphics render Prague in its own grand way, pulling players into a dazzling environment of a city at the heart of a sinister cyber-war.
DirectX® 12 highlights several features supported in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided not found in DirectX® 11:
Asynchronous Shaders—the Asynchronous Compute Engines in AMD’s GCN and Polaris architectures can submit commands without waiting for other tasks to complete. The result is vastly improved GPU efficiency that boosts graphics processing performance, helps reduce latency, and enables consistent frame rates.
Multi-GPU experiences have been redeveloped in DirectX® 12, pushing for greater utilization of each GPU in a multi-GPU configuration. AMD’s GCN and Polaris architectures lead with greater performance and scalability in multi-GPU DirectX® 12.
- Up to 100% faster performance using Radeon Software Crimson Edition (RSCE) driver 16.10.2 running Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX®12 on 8GB Radeon RX 480 multi-GPU than with 8GB Radeon RX 480 single-GPU.1
- Up to 100% faster performance using RSCE driver 16.10.2 using Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX®12 on 4GB Radeon RX 470 multi-GPU than with 4GB Radeon RX 470 single-GPU.2
AMD’s support of multi-GPU DirectX® 12 Frame Pacing enables smooth gameplay on Radeon Graphics by evenly distributing frame times and providing them at a more consistent rate, delivering an exceptional gaming experience.
- With Radeon’s DirectX® 12 frame pacing enabled, two Radeon™ RX 480s deliver up to 11% lower 99th-percentile frame times in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at 2560×1440 very-high preset with Radeon Software Crimson Edition driver 16.10.2 than with frame pacing disabled.3
In a game where characters battle over technology-rooted philosophies, players will notice how DirectX®12 multi-GPU and Frame Pacing enrich the way they use Jensen’s own high-tech capabilities—mirroring the graphical prowess of the patch, gameplay features like remote hacking and TESLA arcs emerge distinctively through each frame.
Regardless of which Radeon graphics card you own, you’ll be able to fine-tune and adjust Deus Ex: Mankind Divided graphics settings for maximum control over image quality and performance with the latest version of Radeon Software.
